College: Van Winkle played beach volleyball at UCLA. After redshirting one season, she was on the UCLA team for one year (2022) along with her older sister Abby. She played with three different partners as a sophomore, with a 9-2 record on court five. As a junior she played primarily with Sophie Moore on court three, and ended with a 21-9 match record which included a nine-match winning streak. Her senior season she played mostly with Jaden Whitmarsh on courts three and four, and finished with a 25-13 record. Van Winkle played with five different partners as a graduate student, ending with a 6-4 record on court four.

Personal:  Van Winkle has an older sister, Abby, and a younger sister, Audrey. Her mother Laurie won two national championships indoors at UCLA and her great uncle Bob Ramsey both swam and played water polo at UCLA, winning a pair of national championships.
